The Amsler Grid Helps You Detect Wet Macular Degeneration
The Amsler Grid was created to help you, and eye doctors, diagnose wet Macular Degeneration (MD) early enough to prevent or limit loss of vision. The grid can be used from a web page, or you can print it out and use it anywhere. Below you'll find a small grid. This one is useful for viewing from your computer. While you focus on the dot in the middle of the grid, take note of any distortions or wavy lines in the grid. Also notice if there are any areas of the grid missing, and if there are any dark areas. If you detect any of these problems, make an appointment with an eye doctor as soon as possible. Quick treatment may mean you get to keep your reading vision intact.
