Is Lasik Eye Care For You?

It can correct vision to a large extent, while some patients may still require the need for glasses in order to achieve optimum vision. It is important not to rub the eyes after Lasik eye surgery since the corneal flap can be dislodged. Patients may experience blurry vision on the day of the surgery, which returns to normal the following day. Follow-up appointments for Lasik eye care are usually recommended after 24-48 hours after surgery in order to treat any pain and other symptoms. In some cases, eye drops are prescribed in order to prevent the onset of an infection. Driving is prohibited until vision improves sufficiently. Always make sure to discuss the surgery in detail with the doctor and make sure you are aware of the risks of surgery, which include Dry Eyes, corneal scarring, problems with night driving, and decrease in contrast sensitivity. If you are contented with glasses or contact lenses then you may need to think twice before opting for surgery. However, if you do, then remember that post Lasik eye care is equally important. Remember nothing beats a healthy diet with the right balance of Vitamins and Minerals when it comes to preventing any eyesight problems.
